This 1957 Lotus Eleven is the finest and most professionally prepared Eleven that we have had the pleasure of adding to our museum.
Our Eleven is chassis # 287, and is fully authentic with the original chassis tag (as confirmed by the Lotus Eleven registry). It is powered by a Coventry Climax FWB 1498 cc motor.
Documentation includes FIA papers, VSCCA logbook, a British vehicle registration logbook, and British vintage sports car club eligibility documents. We have many of the original invoices (issued to the original owner) from 1957 onward.
History:
Chassis # 287 was originally sold May of 1957 to R. Walker of Sheffield, England, under British registration number 2068WB.
The car had podium finishes at Iola (Italy), Spa (Belgium), finished second at Silverstone (England), and won first place Snetterton (England). The Eleven won its division at the Lemans classic, where it reached 148 MPH on the Mulsanne Straight.
The car was transported to the United States in 2003 to compete in vintage events.
