 Alba Background

Introduced in 1983, Alba’s were the first carbon fiber prototypes in Group C racing. Few expenses were spared in the creation of these cars, and featured an extensive use of titanium throughout..

Only four Alba AR8’s were created between 1986-88, this car being one of them.

Vehicle History

This Alba was entered into Watkins Glen shortly after leaving the factory in 1987. It was campaigned by Kalagian Racing and entered in four IMSA events in 1987, where it was driven by various drivers at four races. Kemper Miller was the man behind the wheel the majority of the time, and John Andretti also raced the car .

Under new ownership the Alba went through a complete restoration at RM Motorsports in Wixom, Michigan. ,  in 2002 the restoration was completed.

Since then, the car has been entered in only four events, the most recent of which being the Rolex event in Monterey in August of  2012.

Vintage Motorsport featured the car for it’s ‘Pick of the Liter’, calling it “one of a kind”. You can view the article in the slideshow below.
