This 1947 Kurtis Kraft Midget has a 110ci Offy DOHC 4 cyl. engine, four-wheel drum brakes, and a Frankland quick-change rear.
This is Eddie Bourgnon’s old no.5 Kurtis that Mike Caruso aquired in 1950. Caruso painted the car and campaigned it as the Deuce, as the original Deuce was stretched into a 3/4 sprint in ’49 or ’50. Provenience is without doubt as it has an unbroken chain of custody of merely three owners.
It had many feature wins and was driven by an array of notable drivers.
It recieved a thorough period correct restoration in 1973, debuting at Stafford Motor Speedway on Memorial Day in 1974. The car last ran in the mid 1980’s and as such will require servicing before it returns to the track. However, it is in beautiful cosmetic condition and is ready to be displayed.
